It´s never too young to start getting in to the water together as a family or with a group of friends.
There are different activities available for the family to get involved in, so even if you have young children or members of your family or friends who aren´t comfortable in the water it doesn´t mean they can´t get involved.
There are no age restrictions when it comes in Snorkelling in Lanzarote. Even if the rest of your group are off exploring under the water you can still join them by staying on top of the water. You will always have the option to be accompanied by one of our snorkel guides, who will carry a flotation device with them so you can ensure you comfort and safety, whilst still exploring the underwater life we are lucky enough to have in the waters around Lanzarote.
For the little ones we have the PADI Bubblemaker (From 8-9 years old) option. From 8 years old you can start blowing those bubbles with full scuba equipment. Designed as an introduction to Scuba Diving, start building the confidence and skill level before moving on to complete the PADI Discover Scuba Diving, or as a stepping stone towards their first certification course as a PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver.
10 years old or older? Then you can complete the PADI Discover Scuba Diving option. Similar to the PADI Bubblemaker but with different age requirements, the PADI Discover Scuba Diving activity can be used to introduce divers into the water and the basic knowledge of scuba diving prior to going to complete a certification course.
Want to become certified as a family? From 10 years old you can complete the PADI (Junior) Scuba Diver Course or PADI (Junior) Open Water Course. Both courses are certification courses but vary in length and certification. PADI Scuba Diver Course is half of the PADI Open Water Diver Course and certifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres. The course can be completed in 1-2 days and consists of theory work and water work. The PADI Open Water Diver Courses certifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 18metres (12years and older), or 12metres (for 10 and 11 year olds). The course can be completed in minimum 3-4 days and also consists of theory and water work.
