PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD)
Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to breathe underwater?
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience gives you the opportunity to try scuba diving without having any previous experience or without having to complete a course.
A PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience is a great way to truly discover the joys of scuba diving whilst being in the complete care of one of our instructors who shall ensure you have a unique experience.
Duration of the activity: 3 hours
Prerequisites.
· 10 years old.
Note: From 8 years old you can participate in the PADI Bubblemaker experience with a maximum depth of 2 metres.
Physical requirements.
All student divers complete a brief scuba medical questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. If none of these apply, sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of these apply to you, your doctor must, as a safety precaution, assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms you’re fit to dive.
What is the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience?
Before going to the water we will explain everything you need to know about the basic principles of scuba diving and the setup of the scuba diving equipment you will use.
The activity takes place at Playa Chica which is the ideal place to start your scuba diving adventure for the excellent conditions of the water throughout the year and the great amount of life that shelters within the bay.
The complete PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience consists of 2 dives that are performed in the morning, (although optionally a single dive in the afternoon), the first to a maximum depth of 6 metres and the second to a maximum depth of 12 metres and with a bit of luck, we will even see seahorses.
You will be accompanied at all times by a specially trained PADI Divemaster or Instructor.
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience includes:
- Complete dive equipment.
- Insurance.
PADI Bubblemaker
They’ve seen the film now they get to experience what it is actually like underwater, we can’t guarantee they will see Nemo but they will have a great time!
The programme is led by an experienced instructor at a maximum ratio of 2 divers to 1 instructor and to a maximum depth of 2 metres.

Before going to the water every participant will receive a full briefing from one of our fully qualified Instructors. We will explain everything that is needed to know to enjoy the experience to the maximum, from the basic principles of diving, the equipment they will be using, the fish life we will see and how we communicate when underneath the water. The experience is conducted at Playa Chica Bay, the ideal location due to the large amount of fish life the bay attracts due to its safe, calm waters.
The experience includes:
· Complete diving equipment.

PADI Scuba Diver Course (SDC)
The PADI Scuba Diver Course is perfect for those with limited time but still want to complete a diver certification whilst on holiday.
On completion of the course you will receive a qualification that certifies you to dive to a maximum of 12 metres with a PADI Professional, worldwide.
This certification allows you to gain comfort and confidence as a certified diver exploring some of our shallow dive sites, such as Museo Atlántico. At any stage after certification, you can upgrade your PADI Scuba Diver certification to the PADI Open Water Diver certification as the courses are linked together and by completing the PADI Scuba Diver certification you have completed the first half of the PADI Open Water Diver certification.
Duration of the course: 2 days.

· Minimum age 10 Years old.
Note: 10-14 year old divers are certified as Junior Scuba Diver.

If none of these apply, sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of these apply to you, your doctor must, as a safety precaution, assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms you’re fit to dive.
The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of a combination of confined water training dives, open water training dives and a knowledge development session. You will have a minimum of 3 water sessions. Your Instructor will work out the sessions with you when you arrive as to your schedule and will fully explain what will be involved in each session.
The PADI Scuba Diver Course includes:
- PADI Open Water Online eLearning.
- PADI certification fees.
- Complete dive equipment.
- Insurance.
PADI Open Water Diver Course (OWD)
Taking your first breaths underwater, with your Instructor is the most exciting part of learning to dive and something you´ll never forget! Spending time with your instructor in Confined Water, you´ll start off learning some of the basic skills we need to become a Certified Diver, before moving on and completing your Open Water Dives.
Once becoming certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, you will be certified to dive to a maximum of 18 metres (12 metres for 10 and 11 year olds), anywhere in the world.
You can begin the course prior to arrival by registering for the PADI eLearning, enabling us to get straight in the water with you.
Duration of the course: 3/4 days.
