Learn to dive

PADI Bubblemaker

They’ve seen the film now they get to experience what it is actually like underwater, we can’t guarantee they will see Nemo but they will have a great time!

The programme is led by an experienced instructor at a maximum ratio of 2 divers to 1 instructor and to a maximum depth of 2 metres.

Duration of the activity: 3 hours

Prerequisites.

  • Minimum age 8 years old.

All participants complete a brief medical questionnaire to assess their suitability to scuba dive. If they can answer no to all questions they are ready to start blowing bubbles. If they have to answer yes to any question then a signed note from a doctor is needed to state that in his opinion the participant is safe to go diving.

Before blowing bubbles there will a short safety briefing explaining what to expect and and safety issues. The participant will be accompanied by a PADI Instructor at all times.

The activity takes place at Playa Chica which is the ideal place to start your scuba diving adventure for the excellent conditions of the water throughout the year and the great amount of life that shelters within the bay.

The experience includes:

  • Completion certificate.
  • Complete dive equipment.
  • Insurance.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD)

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to breathe underwater?

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience gives you the opportunity to try scuba diving without having any previous experience or without having to complete a course.

A PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience is a great way to truly discover the joys of scuba diving whilst being in the complete care of one of our instructors who shall ensure you have a unique experience.

Duration of the activity: 3 hours

Prerequisites.

· 10 years old.
Note: From 8 years old you can participate in the PADI Bubblemaker experience with a maximum depth of 2 metres.

Physical requirements.

All student divers complete a brief scuba medical questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. If none of these apply, sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of these apply to you, your doctor must, as a safety precaution, assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms you’re fit to dive.

What is the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience?

Before going to the water we will explain everything you need to know about the basic principles of scuba diving and the setup of the scuba diving equipment you will use.

The activity takes place at Playa Chica which is the ideal place to start your scuba diving adventure for the excellent conditions of the water throughout the year and the great amount of life that shelters within the bay.

The complete PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience consists of 2 dives that are performed in the morning, (although optionally a single dive in the afternoon), the first to a maximum depth of 6 metres and the second to a maximum depth of 12 metres and with a bit of luck, we will even see seahorses.

You will be accompanied at all times by a specially trained PADI Divemaster or Instructor.

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience includes:

  • PADI Discover Scuba Diving booklet.
  • Complete dive equipment.

PADI Scuba Diver Course

The PADI Scuba Diver course is perfect for those with limited time but still want to end their holiday with a diver certification.

Taking this course you will earn the certification that qualifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres with a PADI professional.

With this certification you can, for example, visit Museo Atlántico, the underwater museum of Lanzarote with the comfort and confidence of being a certified diver. At any stage after certification you can upgrade to your PADI Open Water Diver as the PADI Scuba Diver course is the first part of the Open Water Diver Course

Duration of the course: 2 days.

Prerequisites.

· Minimum age 10 Years old.
Note: 10-14 year old divers are certified as Junior Scuba Diver.

All student divers complete a PADI Standard medical questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. If none of these apply, sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of these apply to you, your doctor must, as a safety precaution, assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms you’re fit to dive.

The PADI Scuba Diver courses consists of a combination of confined water training dives, open water training dives and a knowledge development session.  You will have a minimum of 3 water sessions. Your Instructor will work out the sessions with you when you arrive as to your schedule and will fully explain what will be involved in each session.

The PADI Scuba Diver Course includes:

  • PADI Open Water Diver manual and materials.
  • PADI certification fees.
  • Complete dive equipment.
  • Insurance.

PADI Open Water Diver Course (OWD)

The fun part of this course is … well, almost everything, because learning to dive is incredible.

You will breathe underwater for the first time, something you will never forget, and you will learn what it takes to become a certified diver.

When you get certified as PADI Open Water Diver you will be able to dive up to 18 metres deep (12 metres for 10 and 11 year olds), with more than 6,400 Dive Centers and PADI Resorts around the world. 

The great news is you can get started before you arrive on the island and save precious sun worshipping time by registering to do eLearning.  You can study using either the Digital Manual or the full eLearning programme, contact us for further details.
