PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course (AOWC)

Once certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, you can dive to a maximum depth of 30 metres (21 metres for 12 – 14 year olds), allowing you access to some of the best dive sites in the world without any additional certifications.

This course, which can be done in two days, develops what you have learned previously and introduces new skills with additional activities and new ways to have fun with scuba diving.

You will develop your techniques by doing five adventure dives of which two are mandatory, Underwater Navigation and Deep Diving; the other three adventure dives can be chosen from a range of types of diving such as wreck diving, night diving, digital underwater imaging; all of them making the most of the spectacular dive sites we have here in Lanzarote.

Not only can we offer most of PADI Standardised Specialities (look at the above list) but also the following additional Specialities – Dive against Debris, Delayed Surface Maker Buoy and new from this month, Self – Reliant Diver (Solo Diver) contact us for full details.

These are some of the most popular:

Enriched Air.
Without a doubt the most popular specialty. Diving with enriched air (nitrox) you can reduce the absorption of nitrogen on each dive, reduce the surface interval between dives and extend your no decompression time on each dive.

Deep diving.
Learn to dive deep in a relaxed way and under safe conditions.

Peak Performance Buoyancy.
Learn the art of perfect weightlessness. Fine tune your buoyancy so you feel comfortable positioning yourself few centimetres above the bottom while observing aquatic organisms without touching them.

Underwater Digital Photographer.
Learn how to position your photos to get the best underwater images. We will also treach you how to look prepare and look after your camera pre and post dive.

(For the full list of specialities click here).

Prerequisites.

The minimum age of some specialities start at just 10 yrs of age with a PADI Open Water Diver certification. Contact us for specific requirements.

Physical requirements.

PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox)

When diving with enriched air (Nitrox) the air we breathe has a higher percentage of oxygen than in normal air. This allows us to extend our no decompression time, which affects our bottom time a long with our air consumption, and allows shorter surface intervals between dives.

Using enriched air allows divers to enjoy more their favourite activity – being underwater!

Duration of the course: 1 day

Prerequisites.

  • Minimum age 12 years old
  • PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent or enrolled on the PADI Open Water course.

The PADI Enriched Air Course (Nitrox) can be done as a non-diving course and therefore can be completed in just a few hours, the theory is mostly about

  • Discussing managing oxygen exposure.
  • Practicing analysing oxygen in your tank.
  • Setting your dive computer ready for your dive.

However if you would like we could include 1 or 2 optional nitrox dives as part of the course, contact us for further details.
